Kite Buggy in Jordan

We started four years ago in Jordan after we got impressed with a kite festival that was organized in Aqaba on the Red Sea. The event featured international kiters and had the usual mix of huge single lines, the royal squadron formation flyers, and Traction kites with boards and buggies.

We got hooked on traction kites and started buying kites and learning. We are all self taught on the kites and buggies but we are doing quite well and loving it.

Jordan has a very impressive desert backyard with very good wind statistics. We ride mostly on weekends close to the capital, Amman for convenience. Not too far off, an hours drive we have a number of mudflats and dry lake beds. Another area, AlJafr dry lake, 250Km from Amman is where they tried to break the land speed sound barrier.

Interest is building in our kiting activity but we are still quite far from putting a show.
