SBBB Begins- Some Wind, Some Rain & many familiar faces

The main gate to the access road was as plain as ever, but a new sign
just inside the BLM property let the buggiers know that they had arrived

For the first time ever, SBBB gets a base of operations. Registration, the Saturday cookout
informal gatherings, race briefings and buggy storage will be handled here

Even before the tent builders finished the structure, the morning rains came,
sending pilots and equipment in search of shelter

Okay Jeff, tell us the one again about Elmers, an Oklahoma
buggy pilot, a mountain board and a motorcycle

The rains abated and kites & buggies returned to the lake. Fran, along
with Patty and Dave Town greeted and registered the buggy pilots

Fran & Patty assist Eric Brackenbury (CA), Claxton Thompson (FL),
Paul Lawrence (MA) and Martin Blais (NM)

Martin also easily wins the award for most appropriate seat back
(ask him about the ball hitch for his tandem buggy!)

dean jordan and Claxton get technical (it's raining harder now)

Dave Forney asked us to wake him when the rain stopped. At 3:15pm the
lake bed was getting unsuitable for travel and all the pilots vacated
(to the Hanging Tree - did anyone remember to wake Dave up?)

As we slid off the lake bed, this sight let us know that great times are ahead.
(And if there are riches at the end of the rainbow, both the buggying on the lake bed
and the activities in Buffalo Bills are assured to be quite rewarding!)

Check back daily!
New photos will be added
